A meeting was held in Sana'a, bringing together Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qahim, and Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Engineer Moeen Al-Mahaqari, to discuss the tasks related to the development and modernization of the executive regulations of the Building Law.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Committee for Updating the Regulations, participants reviewed a draft of the proposed amendments, which include building requirements and licensing conditions in accordance with engineering standards and specifications, in preparation for submission to the Council of Ministers.
Qahim and Al-Mahaqari emphasized the importance of updating the executive regulations, as they play a crucial role in infrastructure development and reconstruction efforts, ensuring compliance with modern engineering standards.
The ministers noted that the new Investment Law opens up broad opportunities to enhance urban development and create job opportunities in the construction and housing sectors.
They also stressed the need to unify building permits for residential buildings to ensure they encompass all necessary requirements and standards, in addition to implementing intensive training programs for public works office employees to enhance their efficiency in enforcing the law and its executive regulations.
They further highlighted that the update of the Building Law aligns with the government's efforts to modernize regulations governing construction and investment, contributing to improving the quality of urban projects and attracting more investments in the housing and urban development sector.
