Promising investment opportunities are clearly emerging in the food industries sector in Yemen, especially in the field of dairy and its products, and the experience of "Jawa Abdullah Al-Wazir", owner of "Jawa for Food Industries" project, is a successful model that shows the potential of this sector and its ability to achieve great economic and social returns, with the issuance of the new investment law 2025, which aims to improve the business environment and attract investors, investment opportunities increase due to the great facilities provided by the law, especially in the food industries.

The experience of the young woman, "Jawa Abdullah Al-Wazir," a graduate student at the College of Agriculture, who was able to turn her passion for food industries into a successful project that produces more than 12 types of dairy products, and distributes them to more than 20 distribution points in Amanat Al-Asimah and neighboring districts.

Jawa started her project, which she called "Jawa Food Industries," in 2019, while she was a second-year student at the College of Agriculture. She used her academic knowledge in the field of food science and nutrition to develop natural and healthy products based on the country's bounty.

A healthy local product

According to Joy's experience, the demand for her products is very high, with orders coming even from distant governorates.

There is a great demand for products that are natural and free of preservatives and harmful substances. Local dairy products, such as fresh milk, yogurt, and cheese, are a healthy alternative to imported products, showing that there is a large market to be tapped.

Wazir says that the conditions conducive to starting her project, namely legal facilities, as well as the over-reliance on poor quality imported products full of preservatives and harmful substances, was one of the main reasons that prompted her to think about producing natural, local alternatives.

She relies on fresh milk sourced from local farms, such as Rasaba Farms. She follows strict production stages that include pasteurization, cooling, and sterilization, making sure to maintain the healthy quality of the product until it reaches the consumer.

Jawa al-Wazir, owner of Jawa Food Products, says that orders for her product come from faraway governorates and she has started distributing her products in the markets of Dhamar city.

She seeks to capitalize on this opportunity, saying that since investing in dairy contributes to reducing dependence on foreign imports due to its high demand in the country, this sector can provide basic food products at affordable prices, especially in light of the high prices of imported foodstuffs.

Expansion

Since investing in dairy products is a key driver of livestock development and an incentive for farmers to improve their productivity to increase their income, she now aspires to expand the distribution of her products to other governorates and even outside Yemen.

Jawa al-Wazir's success story shows that investing in local food industries, especially in dairy, is not only a promising economic opportunity, but also a contribution to improving community health and promoting self-reliance. With the right support, this sector can become a key pillar of Yemen's economic and social development.
