In a move aimed at strengthening and regulating the poultry sector to enhance its contribution to national food security, the Sana’a Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced the establishment of a Poultry Sector as a key addition to its 25 economic sectors.
This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to boost local production, reduce dependence on imports, and capitalize on the investment-friendly environment, especially following the launch of the Investment Law 2025: Investing in Yemen – A New Vision.
During the founding meeting, held at the chamber’s headquarters with the participation of companies, investors, and relevant stakeholders, a sectoral administrative board was formed through a consultative process led by Mohammed Mohammed Salah, Vice Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. The election process resulted in the appointment of:
- Mohammed Abdulkarim Al-Burawi as Head of the Sector,
- Mohammed Al-Zaheri as Vice Head,
- Adel Al-Radhi as Second Vice Head,
- Murad Al-Zailai as Third Vice Head,
- Ali Hussein Mu’wadah as Sector Rapporteur.
In a statement to Investment Magazine, Mohammed Al-Burawi, Head of the Poultry Sector, affirmed the commitment of the sector’s leadership and administrative board to developing the poultry industry, promoting investment, and creating a conducive environment for its growth, contributing to comprehensive economic development. He also emphasized the importance of addressing challenges facing the sector through coordination with government entities, ensuring a stable supply of poultry products in appropriate quantities, weights, and prices.
Al-Burawi further assured that the sector is fully prepared to meet market demands during the upcoming Ramadan season, with no anticipated shortages or disruptions in supply.
