Investment Magazine - Exclusive

The perfume and incense industry is one of the most prominent current entrepreneurial projects in Yemen, which attracts many girls and boys, and this project is strengthened by the historical dimension that Yemen has been famous for throughout the ages. Yemen was a major center for the trade of incense, frankincense, and aromatic plants, and the ancient "Incense Road" was an important trade route between Yemen and the Levant. This industry is still very important today, and many entrepreneurs and small business owners have turned to investing in this field to improve livelihoods, boost incomes, and create new job opportunities as part of economic empowerment programs.

Among these promising models is the story of Lamees Abdel Salam, owner of "Lamsat Scents," which is one of the successful small projects in the perfume and incense industry. Lamis says: "Any successful project starts with an idea, and achieving success requires passion for the profession, determination, and hard work, in addition to product quality and commitment to professional ethics."

Founded seven years ago, "Lamsat Scents" started as a hobby stemming from Lamees' passion for perfumes and scents, but it soon turned into her main source of income, giving her financial independence. Her project includes various products such as oriental and western perfumes, incense, hair oils, and body ferments, in addition to other products such as "sparrow's milk" and men's and women's perfumes.

Lamis explained that marketing and finding raw materials at reasonable prices were major challenges, but she was able to overcome them thanks to continuous research and self-development. She added: "I did not surrender to the difficult economic conditions, but sought to find an opportunity that matches my passion, and I was able to provide high-quality products that won the trust of customers."

Lamees concluded by emphasizing the importance of family support in the success of the project, noting that her family's encouragement played a big role in turning her idea into a reality. "Lamsat Scents" remains a living example of how small businesses can achieve economic empowerment and enhance the financial independence of productive families.
