Yemen's Ministry of Economy plans to launch an online platform to support productive families

- The Ministry of Economy, Industry and Investment in Yemen announced its intention to launch an electronic marketing platform for productive families, with the aim of facilitating sales operations and linking them to financial wallets and delivery services, in a move aimed at enabling these families to market their products digitally.

This came during his visit on Thursday, May 1, 2025, to the Thursday market for productive families in Sana'a's Tahrir Square, where he confirmed the ministry's readiness to provide the necessary training and technical consultations for productive families in the fields of digital marketing and displaying products on electronic platforms.

The minister explained that the ministry is working in coordination with the Bunyan Foundation, the Consumer Protection Association, and a number of related parties to study the possibility of establishing a permanent exhibition for the products of productive families, in addition to organizing similar markets in different areas and times, in order to enhance marketing opportunities for these products.

Al-Mahakri pointed to efforts to form a joint committee that includes the ministries of economy, industry, agriculture, standards and quality, investment, and small industries development to help productive families develop their products and raise their quality in accordance with national standards, which contributes to enhancing their competitiveness in the market.

During his tour of the market, the minister was briefed on various products made from local raw materials, including baked goods, sweets, dairy products, textiles, bags, coffee, honey, handicrafts, perfumes and incense.

The minister expressed his appreciation for the remarkable development in the quality of the products of productive families and their interest in marketing, emphasizing the ministry's commitment to providing all aspects of support to promote this vital productive sector.

He also noted that the new investment law grants exemptions from government fees for small and micro enterprises, entrepreneurs, innovators, and economic empowerment projects affiliated with agricultural associations and productive families. He called on these groups to register their trade names and trademarks through the ministry's online portal for free.

The minister urged citizens to support national products by buying the products of productive families, as they are characterized by their quality and healthy and natural ingredients. He also called on businessmen to visit the markets and support entrepreneurship projects, including providing real marketing opportunities for these products as part of their social responsibility.

The minister was accompanied by the vice president of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Mohammed Mohammed Salah, the federation's director general, Mohammed Qafla, the head of the Consumer Protection Association, Fadl Mansour, and the ministry's director general of centralized operations, Najeeb Al-Athari
