Capacity Building at the Authority: Ongoing Development
The Authority has implemented a series of capacity-building activities as part of its continuous development and modernization of infrastructure, all in line with its ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of its staff and achieve digital transformation in line with global trends.
According to the Technical Sector at the Authority, a diverse range of activities were carried out, including training and development, performance management and evaluation, organizational and functional structure development, knowledge management, improving the work environment, and strengthening the institutional culture.
- Enhancing the Workforce
The Authority has hired 17 highly skilled IT specialists, contributing to improved performance and accelerated digital transformation within the institution. This approach reflects the Authority's commitment to developing its technical infrastructure and equipping its employees with the latest skills needed to keep pace with technological challenges.
- Implementation of Specialized Training Programs
A series of training programs were organized, including more than 15 courses in various critical areas, most notably Business Intelligence (BI) reporting, professional project management, strategic planning and economic indicators, legal regulations and law drafting, international statistical classifications, tender preparation, service development, procedure simplification, and applications of Geographic Information Systems (QGIS).
- Advanced Training Initiatives
These included a training course on "Comfar III" software and a 20-day boot camp in software engineering with the participation of 20 employees.
- Human Capital Development
The number of employees benefiting from the training programs exceeded 90 during the year 2023, through 23 training courses, reflecting the Authority's commitment to human capital development.
- Improvement of the Work Environment
A performance evaluation system was implemented, linking performance evaluation results with rewards and promotions to motivate employees. In addition, references were purchased and the structure was supported. A collection of references in job description was acquired, and the Authority subscribed to consulting services from Infotech to enhance IT operations and the work environment.
- Infrastructure Upgrade of the Hodeidah Branch
The upgrade included 100% renovation and furnishing of the branch's offices to modern standards, a 100% improvement in network connectivity and internet speed to enhance communication, and the provision of modern computers to 95% of the branch's staff.
- Enhancing Security and Safety
An advanced surveillance camera system was installed, covering 100% of the facilities and offices of the Authority's Hodeidah branch, thereby enhancing security and safety in the work environment.
