Businesswoman Lina Ahmed, vice president of the sewing and embroidery factories and accessories sector at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sana'a, said that the sewing and embroidery factories sector in Yemen abounds with multiple investment opportunities, including the establishment of factories specialized in the production of specific types of clothing such as sportswear, children's clothing or traditional costumes, in addition to developing small projects to produce textile accessories, home furnishings and souvenirs.

"The sector represents one of the main axes of activity in the national economy, providing investment opportunities," she added.

She explained in a statement to "Investment" magazine that the sector contributes to meeting the needs of the local market for ready-made garments, traditional costumes, and textile furnishings, which helps reduce dependence on imported products and enhances the status of national products. It also supports the local economy by relying on local raw materials, which contributes to the revitalization of related industries, as well as enhancing the competitiveness of national products in local and foreign markets.

Promising opportunities

She pointed out that the sector has multiple investment opportunities, including providing design and tailoring services according to customer requirements, as well as investing in training and qualification centers to develop the skills of workers in the sector according to international standards, which contributes to raising the quality of production and opening new horizons in foreign markets.

The importance of support

At the end of her speech, Ms. Lina Ahmed stressed the importance of supporting local projects in the sewing sector due to their effective role in economic and social development, stressing the need to localize companies and institutions working in this field to ensure their success in global markets and enhance their competitiveness. She added that she is ready to support this trend within international specifications and standards, if it receives attention and cooperation from the concerned authorities, expressing her hope that the sewing sector will witness further growth and prosperity, contributing to achieving self-sufficiency and strengthening the national economy.
